Floating Ash Wood Shelves

Our client contacted us to create floating shelves for the family room of their new home. The starting point was a contemporary design with a blond colored wood to match their existing furniture. We provided numerous light wood samples until we settled on beautiful pieces of Ash. Simple, elegant and practical. We have another happy client!

Ash trees are currently suffering disease and blight due to the Emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis), an invasive, wood-boring beetle that kills ash trees by eating the tissues under the bark. This is impacting availability as so many trees are being cut down and in many cases the wood is not suitable for furniture making and cabinetry.
